What is NLP?

Neuro Linguistic Programming or ‘NLP’ was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970’s in the US. It is the study of excellence via accelerated learning. The two studied many psychologists who were leaders within their field.

It is an approach to excellent communication and continuous personal development via the mind (neuro) and language (linguistic). This language is both verbal, non-verbal, internal & external. If you are able to repeat these positive patterns (programming) then these lead to achieving specific outcomes.

Changing the way you think, will affect the way you feel and the output will be your behaviour, so working on replacing unwanted habits with new more resourceful ones is a fantastic way to utilise the NLP based approach.

NLP may not be for everyone, but it certainly has its benefits. It may not provide all the answers but gives you a far greater understanding of your current behaviours, and opens the doors to new exciting opportunities.
